The Downtons are a 4-piece indie-rock band, hailing from the South Coast of the UK. Born between BCP and the New Forest quay-side town of Lymington, the band formed in Spring-time of 2024.
Since then, they have embarked on gigs at Strings Venue in the Isle of Wight and the Lock Tavern in Camden town, making new contacts with other bands and more importantly bringing new followers along the way.
The band consists of Jacob Black on Lead Guitar, responsible for their high energy and creative riffs, Bunnie Greenhalgh on Drums, one of the top young female drummers in the UK, Rylee Wade on Bass Guitar with an exceptional ear for a tight bassline and Dylan Rees-Coshan on Lead vocals, bringing passion and enticing audiences with each stage the band takes.
Along with this, the release of their highly anticipated debut single ‘Distaste’ sets The Downtons up for a 2025 of exploring their sound, working on writing and recording their original music and expanding their audience.
Likened to artists such as Arctic Monkeys on the South Coast Music Show (courtesy of Voice FM radio station Southampton) and an early Strokes sound by punters, The Downtons bring an edge to an Indie Rock scene that is ever expanding in the UK.
The band hope to excel through this calendar year and cannot wait to bring a host of new music and electric live performances to various cities across the UK, including the nations capital.
